People are always asking us about how big or small the dogs are. We have decided to show you three sizes of our Poodles so you can get a better idea of what size dog would best suit your needs. We are using the Poodles to demonstrate because we had three nicely groomed dogs available in all three sizes we want to show you. The Aussiedoodles would fall into the same size range, we just do not happen to have three avialable to photograph in these sizes!
Poodles come in a variety of sizes, but for our purposes we are only going to talk about Miniatures, Moyens, and Standards. It truly doesn't matter what the breed standards are for the Poodles as we are not breeding Poodles but Aussiedoodles, the breed standards vary from the Aussie to the Poodles in size anyway. We are just going to show you three different sizes standing and sitting side by side and head to tail. Hopefully this is going to give you a better idea of what size you want for you next dog!
The Standard Poodle shown here is 23"s tall at the shoulder and she weighs 50 pounds. The Moyen Poodle, which means small in French, is what we consider our mid size Aussiedoodle, actually they are small standards if considering the Poodle breed. The dog shown here stands 18"s at the shoulder and she weighs 23 pounds. The Miniature Poodle shown in our photograph stands 13"s tall at the shoulder and he weighs 10 1/2 pounds.
When considering an Aussiedoodle our Standards would range from 19" to 24"s at the shoulder, weighing from 40 to 60 pounds. The Moyen Size Aussiedoodles would range from 15 to 18 inches at the shoulder, weighing from 25 to 40 pounds. The Miniature size Aussiedoodles would stand from 12 to 15 inches at the shoulder weighing from 12 to 24 pounds.
We sometimes get Toy size Aussiedoodles, not because we are trying...they just throw back to past generations. These little guys are adorable little bundles of JOY, but, they are much more delicate, may not be suitable for smaller children as they would be more apt to be injured if treated rough. Their size is generally under 12 inches at the shoulder, weighing under 10 pounds.
